The Importance of Blogging

Hello all!  Thanks for a great class today.  We had a few tangents in the discussion, but overall I think we addressed some important concepts.

In the future, I will be using this blog to wax philosophically on things we have addressed in class.  Today's topic of choice is the usefulness of blogs (ironic, huh?).  Learning new technology is good for anyone - in particular, for those of you looking to enter the workforce within the next few years.  Understanding how to use technology is a valuable skill that most employers are looking for.  Blogging is just one of these mediums.  Social media, computers, certain software programs - all of these are technology that you may find valuable some day.  So look at blogging for our class as a learning experience.

Another important aspect of blogging is the ability to reflect upon concepts and discussions we have addressed in class.  This will help to drive the point home of many of our discussions, and can even encourage you to more thoroughly apply class concepts to things happening in your daily life.

Finally, blogging for our class is a way to connect to classmates outside of class.  While this might not seem like a particularly strong advantage, it is important for developing class relationships and overall can help to improve the class experience.  Regardless, I enjoy reading your opinions and applications to our class concepts - and look forward to more in the future.
